SUMMARY.
About Re-corded
Re-corded is a microphone you wear like jewelry. Designed for Gen Z creators, it stays perfectly placed, adapts to your style, and delivers clear, consistent audio every time.
The Problem
Traditional clip-on mics create unreliable audio because they depend on clothing, causing rustle, shifting, and detachment during use.

The Solution
A recording solution that stays consistently placed, ensuring clean audio with zero fabric noise or repositioning.

USER TESTING.
Finding the right fit
7 Users were tested, ages 19-25 with a gender split of 4 women to 3 men.

Necklace Removed the Guesswork
Microphone placement varied with clothing and collar height. The necklace form removed the guesswork, but neck size introduced a new variable which was resolved by offering three chain lengths.
Getting the size right
Three low fidelity prototypes were tested in a group of four, with a gender split of 2 men to 2 women.

Women favored the smallest size and, as the most likely user, drove the decision.
Usability testing of the 3D printed prototype revealed a need to scale up slightly to accommodate for larger hands as well as change button positions and size.
